Meet the team

We have a number of client-facing executives, supported by a highly experienced team of staff:

  • Bernard Samuels
    Chairman

Bernard is a highly experienced financier. Having disposed of his interest in a successful business in 1965, Bernard established BM Samuels. Initially he utilised his own funds and that of a small merchant bank to fund loans. As he extended his expertise in the market and developed a strong knowledge of the relevant legislation governing private lending, he was approached by his accountants to manage funds on behalf of clients, which led to the establishment of the syndicator model within BM Samuels which has been in operation since that very day. Bernard has an excellent reputation in the lending market.

  • Andrew Samuels
    Chief Executive

Andrew was brought into the company in 1987 to support Bernard and to grow the business. The company has grown substantially over the last 30 years, both in terms of the size of the loan book and in terms of its client base.

  • Jamie Samuels
    Business Originator

Jamie is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and spent 3 years within the valuation team at a firm in the West End of London. Jamie specialised in valuations for loan-security purposes and undertook development appraisals for a range of clients to include, institutional banks and alternative lenders such as BMSamuels Finance Group. Additionally, Jamie completed a Masters in Real Estate at Henley Business School and was brought into the company to further assist with the growth and longevity of the business

  • Peter Bloom
    Principal Lending Director

Peter is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of lending experience. This included a 10 year period as Lending Manager/Director at Leopold Joseph, a city based private bank. Peter has been with the company since 2005. He has assisted Andrew with the expansion of the group’s loan portfolio and the development of relationships with syndicate participants.
